WhatsApp has released a major update for Android that brings new exciting features. This update is version 2.12.250 in the Play Store, which adds custom notification, new emojis, lower data usage during WhatsApp calls and mark as unread or read.
Now the exciting news is the addition of the middle finger emoji. Yes, you read that right… The latest update for Android has added the middle finger emoji by default as also offering it in several colours.
About the low data usage option for voice calls, it works out well for areas with limited connectivity issues. One can find this feature in Settings and then, Chats and Calls.

- Mark chats as unread or read
- Added new emoji. You can also tap and hold on some emoji to choose a different color.
- When receiving a contact card, you can now quickly message or save the contact if they’re on WhatsApp
- Lower the data usage used during WhatsApp calls in Settings > Chats and Calls
- Language support for Urdu and Bengali
This version does not have the Google Drive Backup functionality but WhatsApp has said the feature is rolling out slowly over the next few versions.
