In recent times, WhatsApp has been stepping up its game by adding significant new features to its platform almost every few weeks. The Meta-owned service has gained support for Communities, improved group calling experience, revamped status updates, and more.
However, it can be difficult to keep up with all the improvements the platform keeps making, unless you follow all WhatsApp-related developments closely. To make this easier, WhatsApp is reported to have launched an official chat account, to help users keep track of all the new features, updates, and other important information related to the platform.
You can now chat directly with WhatsApp itself to get highlights as new features are being added to the service. The chat will also provide valuable tips and tricks on a regular basis.
According to WABetaInfo, Meta has been working on this feature for quite a while, and it has now finally gone live. To confirm the test, some random users on WhatsApp for iOS and Android received the first message from the official chat, informing them about disappearing messages.
The first time you open a message received from WhatsApp’s official account, you will be informed about the chats purpose, which includes how to make the most out of the service. Like other chats on the app, you can archive or block the conversation in any case it does not interest you.
Kindly note that you won’t find WhatsApp’s official chat account as a user on your chat list. Hence, you can’t initiate this chat yourself. Instead, you’ll get a message from WhatsApp just like a friend, relative or colleague has contacted you.
Although it went live yesterday, it’s unclear how many users have received the feature or when it will rollout publicly. And if you’re as curious as I am, make sure your Android has the the latest version of WhatsApp – same for iPhone.
Although late, this is definitely a welcome initiative by Meta as it continues to make strides towards maintaining its position as one of the best messaging apps available.
