Nigeria’s Wennovation Hub today announced a partnership with Informa UK Ltd to jointly organize the maiden edition of Entrepreneurs Hub For Startups at the forthcoming NigeriaCom 2015 conference.

In a statement, Wennovation Hub said Entrepreneurs Hub will avail 5 startups the opportunity to pitch their ideas to win prizes, while 15 more entrepreneurs will join the five – and will be enrolled in a mentorship program facilitated by Informa & Wennovation Hub that will pair entrepreneurs and startups in need of skills development and business guidance with industry’s leading telecoms and digital giants offering vital business know-how back to the community.

The East African Edition of the Entrepreneurs Hub For Startups was co-organized by iHub in Nairobi in May 2015. Winners of the regional editions will receive a trip to Cape Town, South Africa to be enrolled at the Entrepreneurs Incubator Hub (A-Hub) at AfricaCom, 17-19 November 2015.

“A key segment of the digital and telecoms ecosystem are the start-ups and innovators taking lead on their own companies to address some of the markets biggest needs. The Entrepreneur’s Hub is a meeting place for start-ups where ICT mentors will provide business growth opportunities, help finding customers, getting guidance, raising funds and help scale up your business. This is the meeting point for start-ups to showcase in front of recognised ICT leaders.” said Adam Thompson, Head of Content, Informa

    • November 17-19; Grand Finale of “Pitch & Win” at A-Hub, AfricaCom in November 2015

NigeriaCom is the conference and exhibition designed to support and serve knowledge and content development for the ICT industry in Nigeria. In its 6th year, this edition sees the introduction of the Entrepreneurs’ hub For Startups and the CIO Forum.

The purpose of the Entrepreneurs’ hub is to bolster support for the start-up community by offering local innovators a chance to network with multinationals and leading private sector players in ICT through panel debates at the conference and crucially through workshops, a mentorship scheme, seed investment styled in a ‘pitch & win’ session and a golden opportunity for 1 entrepreneur / startup to showcase their products and services at Africa’s biggest ICT stage; AfricaCom 2015.

Entrepreneurs Hub For Startups is also an avenue for Startups to contribute to Nigeria’s ICT Agenda discussed at NigeriaCom 2015; “Meeting the Network and Infrastructure needs of Digital Nigeria”.

“NigeriaCom is here again, bigger and better with the inclusion of the Entrepreneurs’s Hub in the line of events. Finally, a deliberate act to bring ICT giants and grassroot African innovators who are poised as the former’s link to Africa’s “bottom billion” market. At Wennovation Hub, we are excited to partner with Informa UK, the organizers of NigeriaCom and AfricaCom Series in building this crucial economic bridge. We are looking forward to searching, selecting and showcasing Nigeria’s Ecosystem finests at the 1st edition of the Entrepreneur’s Hub For Startups at NigeriaCom 2015.” said Wole Odetayo, Executive Director, Wennovation Hub.
