    Tunisian energy management startup Wattnow has recently concluded a substantial funding round, securing a multi-million dollar investment to further accelerate its already notable expansion. Established in 2018 by entrepreneur Issam Smaali, Wattnow has been at the forefront of assisting businesses in mastering their energy consumption through its intuitive combination of hardware and software.

    The company’s solutions offer real-time visualization of energy data, the ability to manage and automate energy loads, and instant alerts for system anomalies. Leveraging smart sensors and machine learning algorithms, Wattnow transforms raw data into actionable insights, presented on a user-friendly, cloud-based dashboard. This empowers clients with comprehensive reports and analytics, enabling informed decisions about energy management.

    Following a successful US$1.3 million pre-Series A funding in 2022, Wattnow has now raised a significant, undisclosed sum in what is presumed to be a Series A round. The investment was spearheaded by Lateral Frontiers and 216 Capital, with contributions from Outlierz Ventures, Satgana, Octerra Capital, and several strategic angel investors, including InstaDeep’s Karim Beguir and Guillaume Amblard.

    Wattnow’s cutting-edge platform has already proven valuable to a wide array of clients in both the private and public sectors, serving industries such as municipal services, automotive, aeronautics, telecommunications, finance, transformative industries, oil and gas, construction, and retail.

    Despite a limited international commercial footprint to date, Wattnow has made a significant impact, delivering value to clients in over 11 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.

    Issam Smaali, reflecting on the recent funding, stated,;

    This investment marks a pivotal moment in our growth trajectory. With the backing of our investors, we’re poised to broaden our international reach, enhance our technology, and continue guiding our clients towards more sustainable energy practices. The scalability of our solution is evident as our initial Tunisian clients have now expanded across multiple continents, underscoring the universal relevance and efficacy of our platform.
