Kanye West announced that his latest album “Donda 2” will not be available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music or YouTube Music streaming platforms. The only way you would get to listen to the new album is to get his $200 Stem Player. “Donda 2” is scheduled to hit the market on 2-22-22.
According to the music rapper on his Instagram page four days ago;
“Donda 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player. You can download new music from stemplayer.com. You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music. It also has a MP3 player available. We currently have 67,000 available and are making 3,000 a day.”
On Friday morning, he took to Instagram again to state that he had sold more than 8,000 Stem devices in the past 24 hours, with sales totalling over $2.2million.
According to him, “We’ve made $2,227,012.05 in 24 hours,” showing an image featuring a list of sales figures. “God is good Thank you guys for taking this journey.”
It would seem he has an axe to grind with the streaming companies as he stated also on his Instagram page that “Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own. Go to stemplayer.com now to order.”

Developed in partnership with Kano Computing, the Stem Player is designed to let users customize any song, with controls that manipulate the vocals, drums, bass, and samples, isolate parts, and add effects. It can also split songs into stems and offers 4-loop mixing, live sampling, and playback. The device is presented in a soft silicone disc with 4 touch-sensitive light sliders, speakers, and has 8GB of storage.
Kanye West first announced the stem player last August which came loaded with three new songs in addition to the original 27 album cuts of Donda that are available on streaming services.
