VUBIQUITY, the leading global provider of premium content and marketing services, has signed a three-year deal with South African Cellular Operator Cell C, to provide new and exclusive content and entertainment services throughout South Africa.

The deal encompasses a substantial linear channel entertainment bundle provided to Cell C via VUBIQUITY and their partners. The deal also covers the licensing and distribution of video-on-demand (VOD) content covering SVOD, TVOD and the latest EST catalogues.

The new content offering from Cell C will be available to anyone across any network in South Africa.

VUBIQUITY’s partnership with Cell C is currently the only solution of its kind and a true market-leader in terms of scope. VUBIQUITY will be providing a mix of premium linear and VOD content across all genres including premium International content, local content, Bollywood and Nollywood, and content from across the African continent.

Adam Poulter, Managing Director at VUBIQUITY International, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Cell C on this important and exciting new venture. The African video market – which is predominantly mobile-first – is constantly changing and adapting, with current forecasts suggesting there are already over one billion mobile connections in Africa today. We are proud to be right at the centre of this growth, offering unique and innovative video propositions for our global customer base. Our partnership with Cell C is an extremely exciting milestone for us as an organisation, and one we hope to be a part of for many years to come.”

Surie Ramasary, Chief Executive: Content at black, a division of Cell C, said: “Cell C strives to work with partners that live its own values of innovation and value and VUBIQUITY has offered just that. We are really pleased to partner with VUBIQUITY on this new innovation that we are embarking on in the South African market.”
