vTime is the first VR social network to hit the general public, which was formally launched late 2015 for Gear VR. The social VR app is known for connecting Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard users into their virtual world. Today the comapny behind the app announced support for iOS to their cross-platform online app. The company has expanded its coverage to support the growing number of internet by recently adding support for the Oculus RIft.
The support for the iPhone gives iOS users the ability to take advantage of vTimes immersive social features. For example, a virtual environment to chat or share images. In addition, whether online or offline, iPhone users can also use vText (exclusive private information service) to keep in touch with each other. Clemens Wangerin, vTime executive director, said the Google VR (Cardboard predecessor) was a good platform to introduce vTime into the mobile ecosystem.
The company also released another new feature called vCast, which enables users to create, broadcast, record and publish their own content. Thus, the user will be able to experience the chat show, podcasts, discussion and more live and on-demand programming. vCast is supporrted by every compatible platform availeble.
vTime currently supported Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard on the Oculus Rift, iOS and Android systems. The company also plans to soon support HTC Vive and Google Daydream.
