Mobile communication company Vodacom South Africa has officially launched a digital music platform dubbed ‘My Muze.’

The digital music platform was officially unveiled during the South African Music Awards nominees event.

Vodacom’s venture into music service follows the announcement made by rival  South Africa, MTN, on its digital music service, Music Time, towards the end of 2018.

Rehana Hassim, Portfolio Manager at Vodacom South Africa while announcing the telecommunications company’s sponsorship of the South African Music Awards said, “The last 2 years have seen us shaping the digital music architecture, and we are now reaffirming our commitment to being a leader in digital and music experiences.  This partnership gives us the perfect platform to unveil our new offering.”

It is yet to be seen how the new digital platform will thrive in the midst of fierce competitors like Spotify, TIDAL, and Apple Music with their large reach and massive music catalogs. However, there is hope has Vodacom already has millions of customers who they can market their new music services to.
