    Vodacom joins Convention on Business Integrity

    Vodacom Business Nigeria has signed into the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi). The signing reinforces Vodacom’s undertaking to observe the values of the Code of Business Integrity both within the company and dealings with customers and partners. The company represented by Douglas Craigie–Stevenson, Managing Director Vodacom Business Africa and Guy Clarke Managing Director Vodacom Business Nigeria, signed documents to formalise the company’s membership to CBi in a signing ceremony held in Lagos.

    According to Douglas Craigie-Stevenson, the company has always maintained the highest level of integrity in its business operations, “Joining the Convention on Business Integrity shows our commitment to conducting all our business affairs with honesty and professionalism.”

    At the signing ceremony, the Managing Director of Vodacom Business Nigeria, Guy Clarke, added: “By signing into CBi we have pledged to abide by its code and collectively we will gradually change the perception of doing business in Nigeria, especially on the international stage.”

    Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Soji Apampa, the Executive Director of The Convention on Business Integrity commended Vodacom Business Nigeria for their efforts. He said, “We recognise the necessity to build a strong alliance of companies and organisations such as Vodacom, their collective action will improve corporate governance and reduce corruption in the Nigerian business environment.”

    The Convention on Business Integrity (CBi) was established in 1997 with the mission of promoting ethical business practices, transparency and fair competition in the private and public sectors. Signatories of the convention undertake to observe the values of the Code of Business Integrity, both within their own organisations and in their dealings with customers and partners.
