Village Capital, a global leader in early-stage impact investing, has officially launched the second edition of its Greentech Africa accelerator programme. This initiative is designed to support 10 to 15 innovative startups from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa that are focused on developing scalable solutions to address the continent’s most urgent sustainability and climate challenges.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural programme, Greentech Africa 2025 aims to continue fostering high-impact startups that operate at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and climate resilience. The accelerator is specifically tailored to assist early-stage ventures in becoming investment-ready, providing them with the essential tools, resources, and networks necessary to attract funding and scale their businesses effectively.
Startups selected for the programme will benefit from personalized mentorship, expert-led workshops, and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to potential investors. Throughout the programme, participants will refine their business models to better tackle systemic issues related to environmental sustainability and development.
Village Capital has established a strong presence in Africa, having conducted over 14 accelerator programmes across the continent since 2012. The organization is recognized for its innovative peer-selected investment model, which empowers entrepreneurs by placing decision-making authority in their hands.
Through its various initiatives, Village Capital aims to bridge the early-stage funding gap and stimulate inclusive economic growth across the region. The Greentech Africa programme specifically targets a diverse range of sectors that are critical for sustainable development, including cleantech and climate tech, agri-tech and food security, the circular and regenerative economy, natural resource management, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
Applications for the Greentech Africa 2025 accelerator are now open and will close on May 9, 2025. Startups from the five targeted countries that meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through Village Capital’s official channels.
