Village Capital, renowned for providing social and financial capital to early-stage companies for business and impact growth, has partnered with Moody’s Foundation to roll out Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability. This initiative is an investment-readiness accelerator designed to promote sustainable solutions and resilience-building while addressing climate change throughout Africa.
Since 2012, Village Capital has been active in Africa, running over 14 accelerator programmes. Their collaboration with Moody’s, a global firm specializing in risk assessment that aids organizations in informed decision-making, aims to bolster innovative and sustainable solutions across Africa.
Greentech 2024 is part of a larger global campaign stretching to Latin America and Asia. The goal is to support and expand startups committed to mitigating the effects of climate change through various channels. These include working to reduce environmental damage, improving agricultural practices and nutrition, minimizing waste and pollution, conserving and safeguarding natural resources, and improving access to water, sanitation, and universal health.
The accelerator programme is inviting applications from regional startups that are developing solutions to expedite sustainable development. It is particularly interested in those working in fields such as clean technology and climate tech, agricultural technology and food security, circular and regenerative economies, water, sanitation, and health, and natural resource management.
Applications are open here until May 10.
