Verve International, the leading Pan-African payment card brand, is partnering with Nokia and Microsoft, major players in the technology sector with the goal of supporting the indigenous application development community by providing payments in mobile apps.
To this effect, the company in a statement made available to Innovation Village, it said it is introducing a competition with the theme “Build with Verve: Lumia Edition”, that will allow developers to build mobile apps using the Verve Payment SDK.
“This partnership is aligned with Verve’s drive towards effective stakeholder collaboration within the technology sector and supporting indigenous IT skills. Verve would be largely responsible for providing the in–app payment service which will help entrepreneurs and businesses to monetise their products and solutions,”’ Verve stated.
The winner of the challenge would receive “interesting prizes and an advertising push provided by Nokia, Microsoft and Verve”. The winning app would also be deployed on the Nokia OVI store.
