Renault recently unveiled the all new shape-shifting electric concept car called the Renault Morphoz. It is a beauty to behold.
The Morphoz was expected to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show scheduled to take place on the 3rd March 2020 but the event was cancelled due the government’s ban of large gatherings because of the coronavirus.
According to Renault, “With our MORPHOZ concept car, we’ve captured the mobility of the world 5 years hence. It’s a clean, modular vehicle. It’s bespoke and adapts just as well to everyday journeys as it does to long-distance trips. It’s a passenger car that you share when you’re not using it. You can drive it, or it can drive you.”
Morphoz has an extendable body that can be switched between a shorter, city-car form (4.4 metres) and a longer version (4.8 metres) for travel .
The Morphoz has a design that blends the attributes of a sedan, an SUV and a coupe. The bodywork has an elegant Ivory Gold metallic finish whereas electric yellow details contrast with the glossy black of the passenger compartment.
The Morphoz carries a 40kWh battery pack that claims a (somewhat remarkable) 400-kilometre driving range.
The Morphoz is powered by AI which transforms the driver’s ride to an awesome experience. The car AI runs a light sequence that detects and recognises the driver when he is near. The driver only needs to wave at the car to unlock and open the car. Like the bodywork, the passenger compartment can convert to adapt to the requirements to the driver and passengers.
The car has a futuristic steering wheel, at the centre of which lies a 10.2-inch screen that displays the main driving and safety information.
The passenger compartment has a “share” mode that allows the passengers, not the driver who always faces the road, to site face-to-face to discuss and participate in shared activities
What do you think about the car?
