It was a great time at the Tecno house today at their Ikeja GRA office in Lagos, Nigeria with the unveiling of the Tecno Droipad 8II tablet.
In attendance for the event was the marketing team lead of the tablet division, Olugbenga Oguntade, the Deputy Marketing Manager for the mobile division, Jesse Oguntimehin breaking down into details the features and specifications of this new device.
A closer look at the Tecno Droipad 8II
The Tecno Droipad 8II tablet features an 8 inch screen with IPS display similar to the previous model; the Droipad 8H, a metallic unibody, slim bezel and ultra thin with a gold back. Resolution is 800 by 1280. It features a 64 bit quad core CPU to handle multitasking and has very lower power consumption.
Inside the box includes the Travel adapter, USB cable, OTG cable. Unfortunately, no Pouch is included unlike most other Tecno devices coming with one. However, it can be purchased separately.
Another feature that might interest users is the Tecno Pad Boom player. The boom player helps you download, stream and share music from your favourite artistes. It has a dual stereo speakers with a sound box located close to the charging port below the device.
The camera is also packed with HD features and a flash. The camera at the back is a 5MP while the front camera has a 2mp with flash function. For low light conditions, it captures every detail.
It also features the dual sim slots (standard sim and micro sim) and the SD card slot all in the same location as seen in the pix below.
Other features includes:
- 4G enabled
- 5000 mah battery capacity (41 days standby, 12 hours video playback and 10 hours web browsing). It has a fast charge ability.
- OTG enabled which means that using an OTG cable as a power bank to charge other mobile devices
- Smart Touch for Quick Start which enables you to get quick and direct access to the apps from the locked screen position.
- Android 5.1 lollipop software
- 16gb rom and 1 gb ram
- Reverse charging
- Fm radio (with an embedded fm antenna and this does not require headphones for usage)
- Gyro sensor
- GPS
- Proximity and light sensors
It comes in two different colours ; Champagne Gold and Silver.
The recommended retail price at the moment is N42,000.
