The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB) Solution Space, in collaboration with ayoba, has announced the opening of applications for the latest iteration of the e-Track programme. This initiative is designed to provide comprehensive support to startup enterprises throughout the African continent.
The e-Track programme is orchestrated by the UCT GSB Solution Space, which is a dedicated hub within the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. The programme’s primary objective is to accelerate early-stage ventures and enhance the capabilities of entrepreneurs who demonstrate a high potential for impact.
The programme is financially backed by ayoba, an all-inclusive super-app conceived to bridge the digital gap in Africa. Ayoba aims to empower users by facilitating their digital engagement and simultaneously fostering the digital evolution and expansion of small-scale businesses.
The e-Track programme is structured into two main stages. The initial stage, known as the Venture Launch programme, is concentrated on the critical task of venture concept validation. This stage is particularly suited for individuals who either possess or are keen to cultivate scalable ventures, regardless of whether they are for-profit or non-profit entities.
Participants who successfully navigate through the first phase will be awarded a certificate from UCT GSB and will earn the opportunity to present their pitches for the second phase of the programme. In this subsequent phase, only 15 startups will be chosen to proceed. The focus here is to expedite the growth of the ventures that have been validated in the previous stage.
This phase culminates in a pitch day event, where the entrepreneurs will present their ventures to an audience comprising potential investors, venture capitalists, and other key figures who have the capacity to elevate the startups to new levels of success.
Applications for phase one are open here until June 30.
