Uber May Buy Nokia’s Here Maps

A few weeks ago, we reported on Nokia wanting to sell Help Maps division to potential buyers like Alibaba, Amazon, Facebook, Sirius XM, Baidu and Apple.

Now it’s been reported that Uber, who rely heavily on Google’s Maps, may be joining this list since the company showed its interest in acquiring Here Maps with a bid for $3 million.
Analysts said Uber’s attempt to buy Here would give it access to a fully established digital mapping business.
Nokia is expected to announce the sale of its mapping unit by the end of May but negotiations over the sale of Nokia’s Here Map may not even lead to a deal but we’ll just have to wait and see.
