United Bank for Africa (UBA) has said its U-Mobile has become the first mobile banking application from a Nigerian bank to be hosted on the Apps Store for Apple IOS devices.
Listing on Apple App Store underscores the quality of UBA U-Mobile application, the bank said in a statement, adding “Only applications that are reliable, perform as expected and are based on a set of technical and design criteria are published on Apple App Store. “
The statement said: “UBA U-Mobile met all the requirements and was listed on Apple App Store in December 2011. The Apple App Store is an online store where apple iPhone, iPad and iPod users can purchase applications for their apple mobile devices. UBA customers who use Apple iPhone and iPad can download U-Mobile for free from Apple App Store. Once downloaded, setup and activation of U-Mobile is simple.”
According to Mr. Luqman Balogun, Divisional Head, eBanking, UBA, U-Mobile brings “complete convenience to banking. It is your bank in your pocket. Using a mobile phone, customers can manage their bank accounts, savings or current, and carry out a wide range of financial transactions including instant funds transfer to any bank account in Nigeria, bills payment, airtime top-up, payment for goods and services, airline ticket payments, balance enquiries and view transaction history, amongst others”.
