It seemed like “fake news” but the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, blatantly refused to shake the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel’s hand even when asked politely by the press and the Chancellor.
Though the President greeted the German leader with a handshake upon her arrival at the White House, he appeared to ignore requests to do so as they sat together later in front of TV cameras.
The Photographers asked for a handshake between the two leaders and even Ms Merkel was heard saying “Do you want to have a handshake?” Mr Trump briefly turns towards her, ignored her and continued sitting with his legs apart and hands together.
