Twitter today announced it will no longer allow the sharing of personal videos and photos on its platform without the approval of the person.
Twitter’s privacy policy forbids sharing of other people’s private information such as phone numbers, addresses, and IDs.
The social media company in a blog post said, “When we are notified by individuals depicted, or by an authorized representative, that they did not consent to having their private image or video shared, we will remove it.”
Twitter’s co-founder, Jack Dorsey stepped down as CEO of the company on Monday and he is already being succeeded by technology chief Parag Agrawal.
