Earlier today, some online news site reported Sanusi Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano. He was the eldest son of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, who passed away on Friday and was buried the same day in accordance with Islamic rites.
Well later in the day, it turned out to be false as an official statement was made by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Rabiu Bichi, announced Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir.
The confusion in the morning apparently came from a twitter handle (@Malsanusilamido), supposedly belonging to Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, congratulating Sunusi Ado Bayero (Chiroman Kano) as the new Emir.
It is not clear who actually posted this tweet but it sure fooled a lot of news agencies and blogs
