Twitter has launched the Windows 10 version of its app on mobile. This comes after its release on desktop and tablets. Added features of this new release includes content discovery and sharing, ability of users to send group direct messages, capture, edit and tweet videos, share tweets with their own thoughts via ‘quote’ tweets and view the platform’s top tweets without logging in. Users can also browse Moments, Twitter content hubs for trending stories. Moments on mobile devices will feature full screen, offering users the ability to swipe through the stories to navigate. However, on larger screens like tablets and desktop, Moments will be displayed in grid format, from which users can pick and choose stories.. A new theme; dark visual theme has also been made available in Twitter for Windows 10 . Users can change their theme in personalization settings.
In describing the process of designing twitter for Windows 10, the product designer of Twitter, Angela Lam said in a blog post : “when bringing the app to mobile phones we carefully considered each section of Twitter and how the user interaction translates from desktops and tablets. We found that 90 percent of the UI and interaction models could be shared from these devices to mobile phones, but there were places where we decided to make adjustments to optimize for each.” We expect more new and updated features for Windows 10 users in the near future. You can now download the app free on Windows Store.
