Twitter has announced an upgrade on its media page, from “Twitter Media” to “Twitter Create”. The company made the announcement in a blog post to express its new goal, which is a shift in its focus toward the creator economy. The blog post noted that “the time felt right to freshen up our look and make some major site improvements, to create a better experience for you, and serve a broader range of audiences.”
Twitter claims the website offers a new centre for creators to access the platform’s tools, product knowledge, and best practices. It wants to make it easier for creators to use Twitter’s creative products and interact with other creators with this new rebranding. This is part of the new transition, which sees the @TwitterMedia handle being changed to @TwitterCreate.
On the website, creators can find resources for their fields, such as sports, games, news, podcasters, writers, and more. With the help of categories, Twitter claims that it will be easier for users to find content that is tailored to them. In addition, creators looking to make money, connect with their audience, or grow their brand on Twitter will find helpful advice on the website.
Before now, Twitter has been attempting to push out new ways for creators to maximise the social media platform. Recently, the company rolled out the “Creator Dashboard,” a new resource for content creators that shows how much they’re making through Twitter’s monetization tools like Super Follows and Ticketed Space. The interface also allows creators to check their payment history and view information about impending rewards.
Twitter has stated that it intends to improve the dashboard in the future and make it a location where creators can discover ways to further build their audiences and monitor the money that they are making through the platform.
In October of 2012, the company launched “Twitter for Professionals” for businesses and content creators. The new profile setting gives users more ways to make their profiles stand out, quickly promote content through ads, and take advantage of Twitter’s plans for e-commerce in the future.
In October, Twitter also introduced a new creator program for Spaces, dubbed the Twitter Spaces Spark Program. Successful Spaces on Twitter will receive financial, technical, and marketing support through this three-month accelerator program.
These new features and resources are designed to help Twitter’s content creators compete with the monetisation options given by TikTok and Instagram, as well as other digital platforms. In addition to this, it is also pushing these changes while dealing with the ups and downs of Elon Musk’s attempt to buy the company.
