Twitter announced it has launched its Creator Ads Revenue Sharing program. The Elon Musk social media platform tweeted that it was expanding its creator monetization offering to include ads revenue sharing for creators. This means that creators can get a share in ad revenue starting in the replies to their posts.
Twitter says it is part of its effort to help people earn a living directly on the platform.
Creator Ads Revenue Sharing will be available in all the countries where Stripe supports payouts. Unfortunately this excludes all African countries as Stripe is not supported anywhere in Africa. By the way, Stripe is only available in 46 countries globally. Twitter is initially rolling out to a select group who will be invited to accept payment.
How you can become eligible
To be considered eligible for creator ads revenue sharing you must:
- Be subscribed to Twitter Blue or Verified Organizations
- Have at least 5M impressions on your posts in each of the last 3 months.
- Pass human review for Creator Monetization Standards.
Where to apply
Twitter says it will soon launch an application process for ads revenue sharing. Creators will be able to apply for both Creator Subscriptions and Creator Ads Revenue Sharing by accessing monetization in their settings.
Twitter is seriously looking for ways of keeping people on the platform as it has had a rough time since Elon Musk took over. Due to its criticisms over the last couple of months, other competitors have arisen to challenge its position. The latest one that is trending is Threads from Meta which incidentally has garnered over 100 million signups within a week of its launch.
