Twitter is excited to introduce a new podcast that will bring its users directly into the world of @TwitterResearch, titled “I Wish I Knew“. The initiative, which was announced in a blog post on Tuesday, 4 May 2021, will help the company have a better understanding of how it uses data insights to, sort of, improve its algorithm.
Twitter has said that each episode in Season 1 of “I Wish Knew… How Twitter Works” will be co-hosted by a different pair of researchers who will share their journeys into the field, discuss how the team is elevating conversations across the company through insights, explore why research matters, and celebrate the people and culture surrounding the work.
You can listen and subscribe on your favorite podcast platform now: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, and Stitcher.
Episode 1, which featured Brittney Mills, Sr. Manager, Research Revenue Diversity and Reggie Murphy who is a Director at Research Creation & Conversations, titled “I Wish I Knew… How Research At Twitter Works”.
Brittney and Reggie discussed their not-so-traditional career journeys into research, how the Experience Research team at Twitter operates, and how the team delivers and measures impact within the product development process. Plus, they share advice about must-have skills for aspiring researchers.
According to Brittney, “We believe that Twitter Research should be the insight engine that makes customer-centricity a competitive advantage for Twitter … That means it’s on us, this team, to make sure that other teams at Twitter care about our customer and that we are building with them in mind all the time.”
Reggie Murphy supported her speech by saying, “We want to help our teammates inside of Twitter see the world as our customers see it. That’s what we want to do with our research.”
