Good news for twitter users who loves posting GIFs as the social media network has increased their GIF size from 5 MB to 15 MB. This change is only for users who post the GIFs from their personal computer as it is yet to be extended to smartphones.
The change was quietly announced on twitter’s help center stating: “Photos can be up to 5 MB, animated GIFs can be 5 MB on mobile and up to 15 MB on the web. The new limit was spotted by careful Twitter Support watchers and avid GIF users.
Twitter is loosening some of its restrictions to attract more followers one of which is that it ended counting images, polls, and usernames as part of the service’s 140-character limit
