Truecaller is gradually making inroads into Africa specifically Nigeria. Recently, it announced that it will set up shop in either Nigeria or South Africa. Now, it has unveiled its developer programme and mobile identity solution tagged Truecaller SDK in Nigeria.

TrueSDK, for any app developer that wants to minimize the friction and complexity of getting new users on-board. No more One Time Password (OTP) verification or users dropping off. TrueSDK helps end users quickly and effortlessly utilize their Truecaller credentials to sign-up with one-touch to third-party apps with their phone number. Save your time and resources. TrueSDK will help drastically reduce costs, improve the overall quality of your community (no more spam accounts) and accelerate global user growth.

Commenting, Priyam Bose, the Director and Head of Global Developer & Startup Relations at Truecaller, said: “We see Nigeria as one of the most promising eco-systems in Africa, that’s why we have decided to kick-off our tour in the market. After engaging with some of the top tech startups and digital businesses in the country, we are even more convinced that Truecaller SDK – mobile identity solution – will help solve many of their challenges when onboarding and verifying new users.”

Bose added: “We are currently working on the mobile app for people to promote their businesses on the Truecaller platform locally. One of the things we’ll be doing here is the Truecaller developer’s programme in Africa including Nigeria – a mobile development focusing on internet mobile and online businesses.”

Truecaller is the third largest market globally and it currently has more than 6.2 million users in Nigeria.

Furthermore, the mobile app is helping Nigerian users block more than 13 million calls, and 25 million spam SMS on a monthly basis according to stats from Truecaller.
