Travelstart launches mobile site for travel bookings

travelstartTravelstart, an online travel booking site has launched its mobile site. The new site allows users to compare and book flights on the go on smartphones and tablets.

Users can search for domestic and international flight prices in real-time; they can also book travel and receive instant confirmation.

They can apply filters to flight search results allowing customers to view flight options for specific airlines, times or simply by price.

Users can also pay for flights via mobile phones. Seats could be reserved for later payment using direct bank deposit, electronic funds transfer, cash payment at the Travelstart offices, cash on delivery, Quickteller or credit card.

The move is said to be in response to the company’s mobile traffic surge between 2012 and 2013 which saw a 416% increase in visits to its site from mobile devices, according to the company.

“Mobile connectivity in Nigeria accounts for a significant portion of Internet users who solely connect using their cellphones. This represents a vast, untapped online market well within our potential customer base,” said Travelstart’s Country Manager, Lilian Obinna-Igwe in a statement.
