    Travelstart Buys Majority Stake In SafariNow For Undisclosed Amount

    Travelstart, an African online travel booking website, has announced that it has acquired a majority stake in SafariNow-South Africa’s largest accommodation booking website. The worth of the deal which has not been revealed will see Travelstart taking on SafariNow’s 40-person team.

    According to a statement from Travelstart, SafariNow, which was founded in 1999, will continue with its core business of selling accommodation and retain its current brand, CEO, Tom Williams, and team.

    Commenting on the acquisition, the founder and CEO of Travelstart, Stephen Ekbergh said:

    We want to supercharge our accommodation offering and with more than 23,000 listings on SafariNow, we can give our customers much better choices.

    Travelstart and SafariNow both started operations in South Africa in 1999 and are recognizable giants in Africa’s online travel booking industry.
