“Just to show you how much we love you, on Valentines day all taxi rides on Tranzit Nigeria will be free. We appreciate your support for the first online taxi booking service in Nigeria.”
I received an email with the opening in this article from Tranzitng. I checked their Twitter feeds and found that they had broadcasted the same. To be eligible for the free taxi ride offer on Valantine’s day, it doesn’t matter what phone you are using, you just have to be a Tranzitng customer and book in advance. You are required to book before 7pm on Tuursday 13th February; after which your booking will be confirmed and guaranteed. Bookings made on the 14th are subject to availability, they said in their email.
Online Taxi booking is about to really get very hot between EasyTaxi, a Rocket Internet backed company, and Tranzitng. We shared the news that Easytaxi and SamsungMobile Nigeria are in a partnership in which they are making free taxi rides available to individuals using Samsung mobile devices; they can request a taxi within Lagos for free from 9 p.m. on the 14th of February to 9 p.m. on the 15th of February 2014.
While Easy Taxi is having the full support of Samsung Mobile Nigeria, Tranzitng is going in alone. That of Samsung is open only to Samsung Mobile users, while that of Tranzitng is open to all. To register for Tranzitng, just log on to tranzit.ng or call them on the phone.
While all this is on, I am very much interested in ensuring that everyone gets a taxi when it is demanded.
Which of the two services have you used? What is your experience? Kindly share with me in the comments.
