Nick Imudia, who was serving as the CEO of d.light, a solar energy company, and had previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Konga, a leading Nigerian e-commerce firm, has tragically died in what appears to be a suicide.

The incident took place when Imudia reportedly jumped from the balcony of his home situated in the affluent Lekki neighborhood of Lagos State. This devastating event unfolded on the evening of Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

The loss of Imudia has sent shockwaves through both the solar energy and e-commerce industries, where he was known for his leadership and contributions. His untimely departure has left colleagues, friends, and family members grappling with grief and searching for answers to the circumstances surrounding his decision to end his life in such a manner.

Prior to this heartbreaking incident, Imudia is said to have made a significant phone call to his brother, who resides in the United States. During the call, he provided detailed instructions regarding the distribution of his assets. Additionally, he reached out to his young daughter, leaving her a poignant message that he would always be with her in spirit.

Nick Imudia hailed from the Ika South local government area of Delta State. He was once married to a woman who also originated from the same local government area, and together they had a young daughter. Unfortunately, their marriage concluded due to irreconcilable differences.

Before his tenure at Konga, Nick had an impressive professional background with significant roles in notable companies. He served as a regional director at TCL/Alcatel, a multinational electronics company. Following that, he took on the role of General Manager and Managing Director for West and Central Africa at Microsoft Device and Services, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in that region. His career path showcased a track record of leadership and expertise in the technology and e-commerce sectors.
