2. The name Corolla is part of Toyota’s naming tradition of using names derived from the Toyota Crown for sedans, with “corolla” Latin for “small crown”
3. As September 2016, 44.3 million Corollas have been sold globally. Toyota sells approximately 1.5 million Corollas globally a year.
4. The man in charge of developing the original Corolla was Tatsuo Hasegawa. He had designed aircraft during World War II.
5. The Toyota Corolla is made in 13 countries around the world and sold in more than 150 countries.
