Togolese startup PickApp is preparing to launch a pilot program for its electric vehicle (EV) ownership and ride-sharing platform in Lomé, the capital of Togo. Founded in 2023 by siblings Joseph, and Rebecca Olurin, PickApp aims to make EVs more accessible to the general public through a range of innovative services.
The startup offers an EV ownership service that allows drivers to purchase vehicles on a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) basis. Additionally, through PickApp’s mobile application, users can access eco-friendly electric vehicles for ride-sharing purposes. To support this initiative, the company is also installing electric charging terminals at strategic locations throughout Togo.
Our app not only supports car and ride-sharing services but also enables drivers and the public to locate, reserve, and pay for EV charging, making it a one-stop solution for electric mobility.

Starting with Lomé, PickApp plans to expand its services to major cities across Africa. The startup’s mission is to increase access to electric vehicles and establish essential charging infrastructure, thereby driving Africa’s EV revolution and addressing the region’s environmental and socio-economic challenges.
PickApp has set an ambitious goal of introducing 1,000 electric vehicles by 2030. The upcoming pilot in Lomé will serve as a crucial step in testing and refining their services while building traction in the region.
We aim to significantly reduce emissions, improve air quality, and lower the carbon footprint across West Africa. Our project not only focuses on environmental sustainability but also addresses social issues like youth unemployment and poverty alleviation by creating numerous jobs in the process.

As PickApp gears up for its pilot launch, the startup is poised to make a significant impact on the electric mobility landscape in Togo and beyond.
