TLcom Capital, a prominent venture capital firm with a focus on Africa, is set to host its sixth annual Africa Tech Female Founder Summit on October 15 in Nairobi, Kenya. As one of the leading venture capital firms in Africa, TLcom Capital annually organizes the Africa Tech Female Founder Summit, which has now opened its doors for applications for its sixth iteration.
The 2024 summit, carrying the theme “Transformative Leadership: Redefining Success in Tech,” aims to bring together female tech entrepreneurs from across the continent. The event is crafted to foster unity, provide inspiration, and bolster the empowerment of female founders, creating a nurturing environment for learning, networking, and mutual support.
The lineup for this year’s summit features influential female entrepreneurs such as Nelly Chatue-Diop of Ejara, Nneile Nkholise of Thola, Rasha Rady of Chefaa, and Sneha Mehta of Uncover. The event will also include a variety of workshops and mentoring sessions, with topics like “Budgeting and KPI Design” presented by Daisy Liech from TLcom, and “Growth Strategies and Scaling Successfully” by Wandia Gichuru of Vivo.
In a unique opportunity for emerging startups, a select group will be invited to pitch their business ideas and receive invaluable feedback from some of Africa’s top investors, including Yemi Keri of Rising Tide Africa and Joyce-Anne Wainai of Chui Ventures.
Omobola Johnson, a senior partner at TLcom Capital, reflected on the current challenges faced by the tech ecosystem, noting the scarcity of capital and the pressure on entrepreneurs to achieve profitability and scale swiftly. She emphasized the need for a critical conversation on what it takes to succeed in this new landscape, particularly for women.
The summit is set to underscore the essential qualities that will enable female founders to excel and become prominent leaders in the tech industry amid these demanding times.
