Tizeti, the first Internet service provider (ISP) in West Africa that runs on solar power, said today that it will cover ten more states in Nigeria with 4G LTE. This is part of its mission to help more people on the continent get online by making broadband connections more affordable, especially for people who don’t have access to the internet.

Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Abia, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abuja, Kano, and Kaduna are some of these states, where most people don’t have access to unlimited, cheap broadband internet.

In light of this development, Tizeti is now offering its fixed broadband service to residents and businesses in these 10 states for the introductory price of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000, or $40) per month, a discount from the usual rate of Sixty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Naira ($695/month) (N69,500).

Tizeti’s launch will improve the competitiveness of those states by giving them access to high-speed, low-cost broadband internet, which has previously been unavailable in those areas. The company has both personal and commercial plans tailored to different types of users.

Kendall Ananyi, CEO and co-founder of Tizeti, commented on the development, saying:

“We are excited to expand our broadband internet services to more locations in Nigeria. Reliable and affordable internet connectivity is still limited to a few states. We will build last-mile digital infrastructure in these states that will move internet capacity to them and help millions of Nigerians participate and contribute to the digital economy.”

Tizeti will use the massive fibre networks built by some of its partners, such as MainOne and Facebook, to bring millions of people online and provide them with the life-changing social and economic opportunities that access to the internet provides. These towers will be powered by solar energy.

This launch will be preceded by a massive hiring push by the company to fill new positions across Nigeria. Tizeti is looking for recent college grads to fill graduate trainee roles in areas like field Sales Engineering, Network Operations, HR, Admin, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service.

Tizeti Network Limited (Wifi.com.ng) is a growing NCC licensed Internet Service Provider operating with head office in Lekki, Lagos and expanding coverage to Lagos and Ibadan.
