Tim Cook goes viral in China during his visit yesterday right after the CEO decided to open an account on China’s Twitter-like “Sina Weibo”. He received 110,000 follows in 30 mins.
After making a post about the new environmental programs, his account already had over 300,000 followers, with almost 50,000 likes on his first post … This is a good move from the CEO and also only make sense since Apple is now selling more iPhones in China than in the USA.
Weibo is more like Twitter in the U.S. and it’s being used by around a third of Chinese Internet users. More than 100 million posts are made daily. The service was launched in 2009 and also enjoys integration with iOS and OS X.
