TikTok boosts Creators’ Earnings with “Sub-only Live” for Exclusive Subscriber Content

TikTok is reportedly set to introduce an intriguing new feature that provides creators with an exclusive space to connect with their subscribers through live streaming. Introducing “Sub-only LIVE,” the latest feature enabling creators to host exclusive live streams solely for their subscribers.

Recent statistics reveal that leveraging the sub-only Live option has led to a remarkable 17% increase in earnings for creators. The Creator’s subscribers will be able to access these exclusive live streams through their “For You” page and receive notifications whenever their favourite creators go live.

There’s also an interesting twist to ths TikTok’s new LIVE feature. By enabling the preview setting, non-subscribers will be able to catch a glimpse of the live stream on their “For You” page. However, they will only have a limited viewing time of 60 seconds and won’t be able to engage in real-time commenting, send multi-guest requests, or access Treasure Boxes. This preview feature provides an opportunity for creators to attract more subscribers to their community.

Creators should note that the Sub-only LIVE feature is turned off by default for every live stream. It can be manually activated each time before going live specifically for subscribers.

It is important to be mindful of the music usage during these exclusive live sessions. TikTok’s copyright restrictions prohibit the inclusion of any form of music, including recorded tracks, singing, playing instruments, or using background music. Live streams detected with copyright-infringing music will be muted, and repeated violations may lead to a temporary suspension of access to Sub-only LIVE. This suspension, however, will not affect other aspects of the subscription feature.

Moderators, who play a vital role in managing the live community, can join Sub-only LIVE if they are also subscribers. Non-subscriber moderators will have the same limited viewing time of 60 seconds as other non-subscribers.

During Sub-only LIVE sessions, it is worth mentioning that some features like Promote, share, flares, and Portals will be unavailable. This deliberate limitation is in place to maintain the utmost emphasis on delivering an exceptional and exclusive experience for subscribers.

Finally, Creators are encouraged to plan their Sub-only LIVE sessions in collaboration with their subscribers. By discussing topics of interest with their live community members, creators can establish a stronger connection and engage directly with their dedicated audience.
