Tigo, one of the major telecoms companies in Ghana has crossed the 4 million subscribers’ mark. Its subscriber base has increased from 3,933,195 to 4,014,487 -representing 14.51 percent of the mobile voice market share in Ghana. This is contained in a Mobile Voice Market Share report for November 2013 released by the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Commenting on the company’s performance, Adil El Youssefi, General Manager said “Tigo is happy to see its efforts yield positive results”.

In spite of the highly competitive nature of Ghana’s telecoms market, he said the achievement recorded by the company is the beginning of greater results to come.

“We have, in the past couple of months, focused our attention on strengthening the fundamentals of our business operations by investing in the things that our consumers care about. i.e. introducing talk and internet packages that speak to the consumers’ needs, engaging in CSR activities that have meaningful impact in the lives of Ghanaians and making significant investments into our network infrastructure,” he said.

“We will use this opportunity to thank Ghanaians, especially our consumers for choosing us.”
