The Chinese Startup, OnePlus has been tingling our ears lately with their new smart Android baby called the OnePlus One. This is one of the latest Android Flagship phones carrying a 5.5 inch screen and ships with an operating system called Cyanogen. Cyanogen is an open source mobile OS that takes Android and adds a few minimalistic tweaks that improve the overall user experience. Cyanogen provides regular free software updates to its users. Most Android users have to wait several months to get the latest version of the software but Cyanogen has a reputation for providing timely updates based on the latest Android releases from Google.
Interestingly , It costs just about $300 or less which is about half the price of an Iphone5s or a Samsung Galaxy S5. The rectangular phone’s slightly curved rear has a gritty, sandpaper-like texture that makes for an easy grip. Up front, the One’s glossy 5.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel is framed by silver-gray edges and a thin bezel that you’ll only notice when the screen is turned on.
Some of the features includes:
- 5.5 inch Screen
- 16/64gb of storage
- 8.9 mm thin
- Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- 3gb RAM
- 13mp camera with Sony Exmor IMX214 sensor
- 5mp Front Facing Camera
- 3100 mah battery
- Quad-core CPU 2.5 GHz Krait 400
- NFC
- microUSB v2.0, USB On-the-go, USB Host
- Led Indicator Light
For those looking for a high-end/budget device, this might probably be it. OnePlus is only selling the phone through an invitation system. The only way to get an invitation is to sign up through the company’s website. OnePlus is a small company and it’s simply not equipped to handle the demand among Android enthusiasts for its new phone. In an effort to manage all of that demand, OnePlus says it is doing this because it is a new company and is looking to manage its early inventory.
