The 2018 edition of the annual National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA) is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, Nigeria.
This year’s event also marks the 40th anniversary of the Nigeria Computer Society.
NITMA is an annual event organized by Nigeria Computer Society (NCS)to acknowledge, celebrate and reward corporate organizations and individuals who are outstanding in their various Information Technology (IT) practice and have also contributed immensely to the development of the profession in Nigeria.
NITMA is awarded only to companies and individuals with valid licenses to practice Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria i.e must be registered by:
- Nigeria Computer Society (NCS)
- Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN)
- Corporate Affairs Commission (for corporate organizations)
The awards will feature the conferment of fellowship which is the peak of the professional cadre conferred only on members who are recognized as authorities in their fields of computing and who can demonstrate that they have made significant contributions to the growth of Information technology through their professional activities.
Also, the IT Personality of the year will be announced. This is for the individual who has excelled in his/her area of Information Technology. The winner is usually nominated and voted for by industry peers.
The climax of the event will feature scholarship awards with the aim of promoting education and training of Computer and Information Scientists, Computer Engineers, Information Architects, Information Technology and Systems Professionals.
Moreover, the scholarship awards seek to empower the youths towards positioning themselves at the forefront of world-class information technology development.
The time for the event is 4pm and it is strictly by innovation.
