What would you do when your phone is stolen? Well some people might forget it and get another one. However what do you do if you opened your dropbox account some weeks later and find a stranger’s photos in it? And you find out that the person is with your stolen phone and snapping away innocently; without knowing that his life is now a public reality show.
Well, this is real life. The publisher, a german tourist, of Life of a stranger who stole my phone had her phone stolen while on a holiday to Ibiza, in Spain. Four months later, she finds a bunch of photos in her Dropbox app folder. The Thief, Hafid, didn’t delete the Dropbox app or disable the automatic upload feature. As a result, every photo Hafid has taken in Dubai has been uploaded directly to the owner’s computer. (The Dropbox app allows its users to automatically upload photos from their smart-phones onto the internet).
So the guy using her phone hasn’t yet realised that the app is still active on the device and transferring the pictures he takes, to the lady whom it was stolen from. She, on the other hand, grabbed the opportunity and started a blog featuring the times and life of this man from Dubai, whose pictures leave little to one’s imagination.
Her are some more pictures of Hafid…
