Apple’s iPhone SE is yet to be released to the public and while a lot of folks out there might not be interested in Apple’s new device due to its smaller screen size, the case seems to be different in China.
Retailers in China are reporting that over 3.4 million pre-orders have been placed for the iPhone SE in its fifth day of pre-sales, and that seems to be an impressive figure for such product, for now.
CNBC was able to gather numbers on some of that pre-order traffic in the country through three authorized online retailers: JD.com is reporting 882,295 pre-orders, Suning has 1,709,427 while Gome is scoring 889,668. Splitting sales between colours, Gold is said to be the most popular colour with 1.3 million pre-orders, followed by rose gold at 1.2 million.
The phone releases in the U.S., China, and several other countries on Thursday, March 31.
