Images of what is believed to be the rear case design of an iPhone 7 has leaked out, hinting a significantly larger cut-out camera sensor and redesigned antenna bands. Sources say the chassis is also thinner than that of the iPhone 6s.
It doesn’t look too different from the iPhone 6s at first glance; it maintains that flat aluminum unibody with rounded edges that we’re all familiar with now. The rear-facing iSight camera also sits in exactly the same place, but the sensor cutout appears to be much larger.
NowhereElse.fr, published the leaked images which portrays a redesigned rear case which also hints the lack of the antenna band that currently cross the top and bottom of iPhone 6/6s models but if you look at the image really well, you’d notice what seems to look like antenna bands on the top and bottom edges of the phone.
And also, it doesn’t look like there’s a headphone jack as many rumours have predicted, but again, it’s difficult to tell from this one image but according to sources, the case seems slightly thinner than that of the iPhone 6s, confirming the lack of a headphone jack port.
Now, if you’d take a closer look at the larger camera hole which could also hint to a significant upgrade, and although there’s no sign of a dual-camera setup, that feature could be an iPhone 7 Plus exclusive but that’s all rumour for now till we get to see something concrete to confirm this new addition by Apple.
Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 7 lineup this September, but we expect to see a new 4-inch “iPhone SE” — and an iPad Air 3 — at its March 21 event.
