A new report revealed that the Samsung is also exploring the use of Facial-recognition as a form of authentication for mobile payments on the Galaxy S8. And according to anonymous sources, Samsung is working to combine facial, fingerprint and iris detection to accurately verify a user’s identity when they attempt to use sensitive mobile services, like banking applications and Samsung Pay.
It would seem that the firm is well into the development stage, as it’s reportedly already started “working with banks to help them embrace facial recognition systems in the coming months.” No words on which financial institutions will support this at launch.
Aside from the facial recognition functionality, the Galaxy S8 is expected to sport a 5.8-inch Infinity Display, a Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU and a 12MP rear-facing camera.
