The new Apple iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max feature a triple-camera system, a marked difference from last year’s iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max which have only two rear cameras. It is also the same difference with the iPhone 11. The new phones were unveiled at the Apple event at its Cupertino, Calif. campus.
The 5.8″ iPhone 11 Pro sports an all-screen Super Retina XDR display (2436‑by‑1125-pixel resolution at 458 ppi) and measures 144mm (H) by 71.4mm (W) by 8.1mm (D) and weighs 188 grams. While the 6.5″ iPhone 11 Pro Max sports all-screen Super Retina XDR display (2688‑by‑1242-pixel resolution at 458 ppi) measuring 158mm (H) by 77.8mm (W) by 8.1mm (D) and weighs 266 grams.
The two smartphones feature the toughest glass ever in a smartphone and are rated IP68 for water resistance up to 4 meters for up to 30 minutes.
The base storage for the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max is still 64 GB, with options for 256 GB and 512 GB
The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max have a new triple-camera system on the rear – a 12MP wide camera with an equivalent focal length of 26mm and an f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultrawide camera (13mm focal length, f/2.4 aperture) and a 12MP telephoto camera with a 52mm focal length and an f/2.0 aperture. The all-new Ultra Wide, Wide and Telephoto cameras are deeply integrated into iOS 13 to create a pro-level camera experience.
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max set a new standard in video, with the highest quality video ever in a smartphone. Each camera in the triple-camera system records brilliant 4K video with extended dynamic range and cinematic video stabilization. With a wider field of view and large focal plane, the Ultra Wide camera is great for shooting action videos. Users can easily zoom between each of the three cameras, while Audio Zoom matches the audio to the video framing for more dynamic sound.
The new TrueDepth selfie camera introduces a new 12MP camera with a wider field of view to capture selfies, and next-generation Smart HDR enables more natural-looking photos. Expressive selfie videos take on a whole new look with the TrueDepth camera that now records 4K video at up to 60 fps and 120 fps slo-mo.
The Apple iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max come ready with FaceID authentication feature, FaceTime Audio and Video capabilities, built-in GPS/GNSS and a Digital compass. Apple claims that the iPhone Pro lasts 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS while the iPhone Pro Max lasts 5 hours longer than the iPhone XS Max.
