Thanks To Facebook – Music Rappers Can Now Record Songs In Their Living Rooms Using BARS

BARS is a new Tiktok-like app, recently developed by Facebook’s Internal R&D Group, which helps to create and share rap songs using professionally created beats.

According to the App’s features, Facebook is targeting aspiring rappers and music lovers who wish to create and share their works, or simply want to have fun with rap.

    How does it work?

Step 1: Go to bars.app and download the app.

Step 2: Select from any of the hundreds of dope beats, and write your own lyrics.

    Step 3: Hit record.

This video is usually 60 seconds, and you can post it to a TikTok-style feed, where people can watch it and mark it as “fire” (that is, of course, if your skills are up to par).

BARS features studio-quality vocal effects and other tools to help bring your music to life. You can also suggest rhymes as you write your lyrics, providing a variety of audio and visual filters (including a built-in autotune feature) for you to enjoy a fun, while creating a hassle-free rap experience. There’s a “Challenge mode” where you can add freestyle videos with auto-suggested word cues.

How is BARS different from Collab?

Collab and BARS launched as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. Both are music apps still at the experimental stage and we’re developed by the same team. But while musicians (all over the world) can make songs together, each providing separate parts using Collab, BARS provides the beats and lets you create 60-second rap videos over them.

As seen in the above image, aspiring rappers or beginners will love the auto-rhyme dictionary that suggests possible words to use. If you opt for the “advanced” level (which the app defines as someone who has over four years’ worth of rapping experience), then you get access to the Freestyle mode, which gives users eight random words that they must work into an improvisational 16-bar rap.

BARS is currently in closed beta and will only be available on the US App Store for the time being. Follow Bars on Instagram and stay tuned for more updates on the app’s development process.
