Tesla has unveiled The Cybertruck and it is straight out of a Science Fiction movie. It shares no DNA with any other pickup truck in existence.
The electric pick-up truck project, which was undertaken under a cloak of mystery, was unveiled by Tesla CEO Elon Musk at the firm’s design studio in California.
The unveiling of the Cybertruck was met with loud gasps and cheers, with the audience in disbelief of what they had just witnessed.
The Cybertruck is designed in an unconventional fashion, looking a bit like a low-poly graphic render. Its steely gray finish is a stark contrast to Tesla’s signature cherry red vehicles.
The Cybertruck’s body was built using a newly developed alloy that, according to Musk, practically assures the truck will be bulletproof (against smaller firearms). The alloy is the same one used to build SpaceX rockets.
The all electric machine seats 6, with an extra seat cleverly placed in between the driver and co-driver, it folds away when not in use.
To test these claims, a tester pounded at the Cybertruck with a sledgehammer, which to its credit, remained in tip top condition with not so much as a dent.
All did not go well, as the supposedly strong bullet proof glass shattered when the tester threw a small metal ball at it from close range. A bemused Musk however pointed out that on the bright side the ball did not go all the way through.
Elon Musk later on tweeted a video of the Cybertruck’s window holding against a steel ball during the testing phase at Tesla.

In a “one-more-thing” fashion, Musk revealed an ATV designed by Tesla that boards the Cybertruck thanks to a cleverly hidden ramp, and fits snuggly atop it.
What’s more, the Cybertruck will retail starting at USD 39,900, an incredibly fair price for an automobile Musk promised would be more capable, in terms of towing and hauling, than a Ford F-150 and perform as a better sports car than a Porsche 911.
It is unclear as to whether the ATV will be placed on sale alongside or independent of the Cybertruck.
Update: Elon Musk claims that as at Saturday, just two days after the unveiling of the electric pickup truck, they had received 146,000 orders. He made this revelation via a tweet as shown below.
