As a group admin, have you ever imagined managing users who send too many messages in a group? Well instant messaging app, Telegram, has introduced a feature called “Slow Mode” which gives the group admin the power to control how often a member could send a message in the group.
The “Slow Mode” switch is in the Group Permissions section and when enabled for say, 5 minutes, members who have sent a text will have to wait for 5 minutes before they can send another message.
According to messaging app service in a blog post, “When an admin enables Slow Mode in a group, you will only be able to send one message per the interval they choose. A timer will show how long you have to wait before sending your next message.”
“Slow Mode can make conversations in the group more orderly, while raising the value of each individual message. Keep it on permanently, or toggle as necessary to throttle rush hour traffic.”
The app also added some other features such as “Silent Messages” where you can now message friends freely when you know they are sleeping, studying or attending a meeting and “Custom Titles” where you can change the boring default admin labels.
Early in the year, the messaging app introduced the delete button which allows you to unsend messages in a one-on-one chat from both the sender’s and receiver’s devices.
