In the past few days, Tech authorities in Nigeria have been buzzing up as rumours ramp up ahead of TECNOs flagship device Phantom 6, which is expected to be launched in September. There has been a crazy number of leaks and we have seen lots of articles being published to that effect.
USB TYPE a b C
From all the rumours flying around, we know that Phantom 6 will have the USB Type C.
TECNO has replaced the various Type-B and Type-A connectors and cables with a standard one. The USB Type C is a USB specification for a small 24-pin reversible-plug connector for USB devices and USB cabling.
There are two main reasons this will totally fly; first, the USB Type C charger allows you charge with both sides, like the iPhone does. There won’t be problems of you being careful not to dent your charging port because you are forcing a wrong side in.
Secondly, the USB Type C has the latest quick charge technology that helps you charge your device from 0-60% in just 30 minutes. This means that the days of waiting for 4 hours for your phone to fully charge has been eliminated.
It is however sad that these are rumours, although the information was gotten from reliable sources. Phantom 6 will be to die for should these speculations come out true.
WIRELESS CHARGING
Another big scoop of Phantom 6 is that it is expected to support a more rapid rate of wireless charging, provided you pair it with a quick charge 2.0 Adaptive fast charger which might also come with the device. It is capable of fast charging around 2A instead of the standard 1A you get from most wireless chargers, making it around 1.4x faster. There might also be a standard LED to indicate when the device is charging.
Considering people’s experiences, it is safe to say once bitten, twice shy. I have said this in reference to the Samsun Note 7 that has blown up in the past couple of days due to (according to Samsung) battery cell issue.
Seeing the rumours about Phantom 6 coming with the wireless charging feature, we had to seek assurance from our sources in China, that we will not have a repeat of Samsung’s fall out, and hoping that they have put the necessary technology in place so that our lives and properties can be secured.
Just as we requested, we have been assured that if the fast charging feature on the Phantom 6 isn’t just a rumour; then they have used a better technology than preceding brands have. They have done their researches as to why the phones have blown up, and corrective measures have been taken so that the Phantom 6 is out of danger.
I am tempted to ask why I will spend a fortune in this economic recession on a device (even though I opine that they only sell their brand name and not good specs) and it will bloody blow up in my face.
According to the rumours, the ultra-thin, sleek designed phone will come with a unique combination of leather, metal and glass finish that will give it a rich look.
We know one thing for sure; Phantom 6 will have one of the most premium designs ever!! It absolutely flies. Whether you are a Phantom geek or you just don’t care, let us know what you think.
