As a result of the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TECNO, through its service partner Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited, and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Faculty of Arts, the partnership has now taken a major step forward. Consequently, the collaboration between TECNO and UNILAG to equip students with essential tech skills has advanced significantly. Through this partnership, students will have access to top-notch technology, hands-on training, and professional development possibilities.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the UNILAG campus’ Faculty of Arts, signifies the start of a strategic partnership aimed at bridging the knowledge gap between academia and business. The agreement calls for the establishment of a Technology Experience Center and the founding of a TECNO Club within the Faculty to give students access to TECNO’s newest developments.

Students will be exposed to beneficial opportunities like internships, professional training, scholarships, and possible employment with TECNO and its partners through the TECNO and UNILAG cooperation to equip them with tech skills. These programs will give students a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing labor economy of today.
Prof. Ilupeju Akanbi Mudasiru, dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Mrs. Victoria Abosede Wickliffe, registrar, represented the University of Lagos at the ceremony. Senior representatives from both organizations were present, including Olumide Yomi Omolayo, TECNO’s marketing manager, and LƐ Liàng, human resources director for Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited, TECNO’s service partner.

TECNO emphasized that education and technology naturally complement each other. The brand noted, “We believe students should have every opportunity to experience the best tools and training the digital world has to offer. By working with UNILAG, we hope to inspire and prepare the next generation to thrive in whatever career paths they choose.”

Prof. Ilupeju Akanbi Mudasiru, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, welcomed the initiative, stating, “By working with a technology leader like TECNO, our students will have the opportunity to translate their academic learning into practical industry skills, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market.”

Students will gain access to technology, training, and the TECNO Creators Hub, a platform designed to support digital innovators, storytellers, and content producers. This hub will enable students to develop their creative potential outside of the classroom by providing them with the materials, guidance, and tools they need to create excellent content for a worldwide audience.
Beyond innovation and technology, the MoU provides access to practical experience. Furthermore, scholarships, industrial training, and internships will ensure that students acquire not only academic knowledge but also the abilities, self‑assurance, and job experience required to thrive in the workforce.

In conclusion, the partnership between TECNO and UNILAG to equip students with tech skills represents a progressive alliance that effectively combines academic study with real‑world industrial participation. By doing so, TECNO and UNILAG are preparing the next generation for success in a global economy that is becoming increasingly digital and competitive. Through this initiative, students gain access to technology, employment opportunities, and mentorship that will help them excel.
