The tech ecosystem has continued to show financial support for #EndSARS as the protest continues globally.
#EndSARS started on Social Media but migrated to the streets some days ago when youths decided enough was enough.
Even though the Inspector General of Police announced the disbandment of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), the protests are still going on across the nation and in some nations around the world.
Here are some of the techies that have contributed funds to the #EndSARS as it is a protest that they can relate to
Flutterwave
The funds flow for the #EndSARS support started with Flutterwave whose CE, Gbenga Agboola, announced that the company had raised N2m and decided to open it to the public.
As at yesterday, Odunayo Eweniyi, co-founder of Piggyvest announced as at October 12, that total funds raised through Flutterwave stood at 12.3 million in Nigerian currency, Naira and other amounts in different currencies. She also went on to list what the some of the monies had been used for.
BudgIT
BudgIT Nigeria supported the cause by donating N500,000
Voyance
Voyance is a Nigerian data science company that donated N500,000 to help the #EndSARS cause.
Buycoins
Buycoins is a Cryptocurrency company
Bundle Africa
Bundle, a company with a social payments app for cash or crypto based in Lagos, Nigeria announced that it had set up three cryptocurrency wallets to raise funds globally in support of #EndSARS protestors and victims of SARS, and contributed 2,145 BUSD (~NGN 1,000,000) to the fund.
Adam Bradford
Adam Bradford pledged $10,000 to launch an emergency fund to activism & youth initiatives countering the SARS destruction
ScaleMyHustle
ScaleMyHustle is a social enterprise that helps business owners build better-structured businesses and help professionals navigate career growth challenges. The company made a donation of N1 million.
Paystack
Paystack, a payments company, also announced that its team had donated N1 million to help pay medical and legal expenses for protesters demanding that #SARSMustEnd
